Nephew of SAD leader throws acid on girl in Jalalabad

Ferozepur : In an incident of acid attack at Jalalabad on Friday evening, two boys threw acid on a teenaged girl (18 or 19 years old) and ran away but were nabbed by the police in time. The girl who got injured seriously has been rushed to the hospital but has been referred to the GGS Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot.
The accused have been identified as Vicky Kanda alias Prince and Sagar. According to information, the main accused is a nephew of Inderjit Singh Kanda, president of SAD’s BC wing. Prince aka Vicky is a running a jewellery shop and his accomplice is his employee. The girl’s father had died and she has been living with her uncle in a joint family. The girl was a student of DAV College Jalalabad in BA Ist year on Friday when she was coming from tuition towards her house and on the way, two boys who were on a motorcycle attacked the girl with acid which burnt her face, ears and back badly. Who had been immediately rushed to the hospital from where she had been referred to GGS Medical College.
The parents of the girl accused that Vicky Kanda aka Prince with his accomplice had been teasing her for many days and they had made a complaint of Vicky to his parents a few days ago. Offender Vicky aka Prince Kanda along with his accomplice Sagar attacked the girl with acid to take the revenge of her complaint. After getting the information, the police reacted immediately and nabbed both the accused and arrested them.
On the other side the General secretary of Youth Congress advocate Jagdeep Kamboj condemned the attack and said that the worst side of the picture is that the main accused is a real nephew of SAD leader Inderjit Singh Kanda who is very close to the Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. Sukhbir Badal should take this matter very seriously and punish the accused without any favour, he added.
