Patiala : The Punjab government seems is in the election mode as it is adopting new ways to reach to out the people in the state to know their opinion about the performance of SAD-BJP government. Recently they have started calling the people to know their feedback about the performance of the state government.
People of the state are receiving calls through telly-callers to check the mood of the people. After receiving the call the caller hears “Hello, I am calling on behalf of the Punjab’s SAD-BJP government and it’s call to know your opinion about the performance of the state government”, if you are satisfied with the performance of the government than click this number if you are not satisfied with the performance of the government than click this number and tell why you are not satisfied with the performance of the government. Also, list your suggestion to make modification about the same.
The highly placed sources in the state government on the condition of anonymity told Daily Post on Sunday evening that it is a special exercise to ascertain the mood of the people over the working of the state government. They are collecting a data base that will help in modifying the working style of the government in days to come.
These sources pointed out that the government is making attempts to get in touch with as many as people in the state and to know their suggestions also. When asked how the government getting the numbers of the people to be called then the sources said that the work has been assigned to a telly calling the agency to reach out to the people and the calls have been made at random.
It may be mentioned here that earlier the state government had started similar exercise last month when the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal made direct calls to the people again at random base to get the feedback from the beneficiaries of different Pro-Poor Welfare Schemes and at that time the government had said that its an attempt to get first-hand information from the people involved in the schemes.
Similarly, the people were surprised when they received calls from telly callers to know their feedback about the performance of the state government and some of them were impressed by such exercise as they feel the government is trying to get their suggestions to bring changes in its working style.
Kartar Singh, a businessman here, received such call and later while talking to Daily Post said that though started late but this is a good initiative taken by the state government. He said, “I suggested that curtailing of the corruption in the government offices is a must as the people find tough in getting their work done without the corruption.”
Whereas, another student of Khalsa College Robin Sharma said, “When I received a call then I suggested that the state government must formulate some concrete policies and programmes to eradicate the problem of unemployment from the state as a large number of youth of the state is living under a lot of depression.”
