Lambi/Muktsar : The Lambi police today booked six SAD activists, including sons of a SAD sarpanch of Panjawa village of the Lambi Assembly segment, for allegedly abducting and thrashing a youth a few days ago in the village.
The victim, Gurmeet Singh, belonged to the other faction of the SAD in the village.
Those booked have been identified as sons of village sarpanch Lakhwinder Singh, Baljinder Singh and Gurpreet Gogi; Balwinder Singh Gandhi, Binder Singh and Gursharan Singh.
Gurmeet had lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday alleging that Lakhwinder and Baljinder, both sons of village sarpanch Manjeet Kaur, had stolen the starter of their tube well. He had even accused them of opening fire. He is at present admitted at the Community Health Centre, Lambi.
Gurpreet Singh, SHO, Lambi police station, said, “A case under Sections 365, 342 and 323 of the IPC has been registered against six persons, including the sons of the sarpanch of Panjawa village.”
On the other hand, Lakhwinder refuted the allegations claiming that neither the starter was stolen nor anyone beaten up.
