SHAHKOT: The Aam Aadmi Party (APP) Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi alleged that there was no rule of law in Punjab on Tuesday. “Jungle Raj is prevailing and everybody’s dignity is at stake,” said Ghuggi.
He said this while kick starting the election campaign of AAP candidate doctor Amarjit Singh Thind from Shahkot constituency.
The Bathinda police arrested Navtej Singh of Chak Chela village in Shahkot for posting a video on social media exposing Shiromani Akali Dal misrule, he alleged.
The APP volunteer has been remanded to judicial custody, he said. The APP has emerged as an alternative to misrule of the SAD in the state, said Ghuggi. All the other parties have joined hands to stop APP from capturing power in the state, alleged Ghuggi.
He said that the ‘stage-managed’ agitations by the Congress against the SAD-BJP government have established a ‘political collusion’. The Congress legislators were allowed to sit on dharna outside chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s official residence even as there has been a complete ban on assembling of people under Section 144 of the CrPC.
The Congress leaders had free access to the site, he alleged. The arrangements of food and stay for the protesting Congress MLAs were made during the stage-managed three-day protest, he alleged.
“Anyone, including PPCC chief Captain Amarinder Singh and other senior leaders of the party, were free to join in as and when they pleased,” he said.
If voted to power in 2017 assembly elections the party will create 25 lakh job opportunities for youth in government and private sectors, said Ghuggi.
Doctor Thind and party candidate from Phillaur Sarup Singh Kadianna addressed the rally attended by more than 400 volunteers.
