CHANDIGARH, August 24: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh today lashed out at the Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal for his U-turn on the issue of Lokpal within a fortnight.

At the same time, the PCC President reiterated his stand that the Prime Minister and higher judiciary must not come under the purview of the Lokpal for the obvious reason of the nature of their jobs.

In a statement issued here today, Capt Amarinder said, “this vindicates our stand that Mr Badal is quite indecisive and will say one thing today and quite contrary the very next day”.

He pointed out, only a fortnight ago Mr Badal said, the Prime Minister and the judiciary should not come under Lokpal but now he has changed his stand that they must come under Lokpal.

“This only betrays his characteristic indecisiveness which has cost Punjab so dear for last forty years”, he remarked, while asking, “when he could not form a clear and permanent opinion on such an important issue what can be expected of him on other equally important matters”.
