Finally it is official. The PTC news and other television channels are owned by the Badal family. Revealing this today with conclusive evidence, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh said that so far Badals were understood to be indirectly controlling these channels, but now it has been established beyond any doubt that they are the direct owners.
Addressing a press conference here today, Capt Amarinder said not only did they own the PTC and other channels, they had also monopolised the airing of the television channels in such a manner that they allow only those channels to be aired which they like, while others are blacked out. He said, the matter was being taken up with the Information and Broadcasting ministry at the centre, besides the Election Commission of India.
