Session mere eyewash, says Amarinder

The Punjab Congress on Saturday said that the assembly session was an eyewash aimed at completing a mandatory legislative formality as the house was required to be convened within six months.
“The SAD-BJP government wanted to pass the right to services bill in this session while overlooking all other issues of public importance that called for urgent attention,“ said Capt Amarinder Singh, who finally attended the assembly on Saturday. After coming out of the assembly, Capt said the government knew it would have been floored in the house had it allowed a longer session.
