No plan to scrap power projects: Capt

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today said there was no proposal to scrap any of the power projects in the state if the Congress retuyrned to power after the February assembly elections.

However, if Indiabulls setting up a plant in Gobindpura, did not pay adequate compensation to the farmers as per the land acquisition policy approved by the Centre, it could be closed down.

“Our only interest is that the farmers must be compensated adequately and to their satisfaction”, he emphasised.

He said the government had not signed any power purchase agreement with these companies .

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
