PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today asked his party cadres to take up lathis against Akali goons. He said he had no faith in the police officials who had been made to report to the Akali jathedars instead of their line of command.
Responding to complaints by the party workers who met him at the PCC office here today, Capt Amarinder told them not to expect any fair play from the police who was playing into the Akali hands. “You better carry your own lathis with you to teach these Akali goons a lesson”, he told a group of people who had come to meet him from Gurdaspur.
The PCC president, who met a number of party workers, leaders, legislators and delegations, disclosed that the Akali goons had started intimidating the Congress workers and the police was not doing anything. “It is a matter of three months more and we will set everybody right”, he warned while asking the police not to be partial as they will have to account for their actions.
