Govt-aided school teachers plan mass leave on May 26

More than 8,000 government-aided school teachers in the state will go on mass casual leave on May 26 and hold a rally at Sai Dass Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, in protest against the failure of the government in implementing their approved demands.
Ravinder Kumar Joshi, Press Secretary, Government-Aided School Teachers’ Association, said, “At least 4,846 posts, which are lying vacant in schools since 2006, allowances as per the 5th Pay Commission, pension scheme, non-parity of the HRA and medical are the major demands, which have been accepted but not implemented.”
