60 trucks of paddy found missing

During inspection of two rice mills in Faridkot’s Kotkapura town today, Vigilance Department teams from Chandigarh and Bathinda found a huge stock of paddy missing.
The paddy belonged to government food agencies and was stored in the mills for milling. Also, the teams found a huge stock of paddy lying unprotected in the mill, said Amar Singh, SP (Vigilance), Bathinda.
More than 60 trucks of paddy belonging to Punsup and the Warehousing Corporation were found missing from two rice mills owned by Ashok Aran and his son Karan. Samples of the rotten paddy have been sent to a lab in Chandigarh for testing, the SP said.
The Vigilance team from Bathinda was accompanied by a senior officer from the vigilance wing of the Food and Supply Department, Chandigarh.
