Gurdaspur, May 16 Punjab Rural and Urban Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Thursday called upon the former five time Chief Minister and Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal to reveal as to why he engineered pardon for Dera Sacha Sauda Ghief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh by summoning Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh and his associates to his official residence on September 2015. “This is the key issue relating to the entire sacrilege narrative. It is a matter of record that the members of the highest Sikh clergy were summoned to his residence. He should have the moral courage to share the truth as he is the recipient of the highest honour of Fakhr-eQaum Panth Rattan. Both the highest Sikh institutions of Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee were damaged in the process,” he added. Addressing a series of rallies near this town, he said this was the most important dimension relating to the Sikh religious domain as all those had been arrested so far for the sacrilege incidents were from the same Dera whose head was granted pardon at Badal’s behest and that too after the Bir of Guru Granth Sahib was reported missing on June 1, 2015 from Burj Jawahar Singhwala Gurdwara. He should also tell as to why he never visited Burj Jawahar Singhwala village after such an unprecedented crime that had been committed for the first time in the history of the Sikhs. He said Badal should have surrendered his honour to Akal Takht for his blatant failure to protect even Guru Granth Sahib. Bajwa maintained even Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to save Badals as he had no appeal in this border state due to his divisive agenda and war-mongering. He said both Badal and Modi had the commonality of exploiting religious sentiments of the people for their opportunistic politics.
