Patiala : Former Union minister and Congress candidate from Patiala Parliamentary constituency Preneet Kaur today said that the people here will break all the previous records to ensure Congress victory. Winding up a hectic month-long campaign, Kaur expressed her gratitude to the people, the workers and leaders who extended overwhelming support to her. She said she was not just confident but completely convinced that Patiala will deliver a verdict with a record margin for the Congress this time. She said she did not need to give the details of the development projects that the state government under Capt Amarinder Singh had launched in the city. “People can make it for themselves as what happened during the 10 years of Akali-BJP rule and what is happening for the last two years,” she said while referring to various development projects introduced in and around the city after the Congress government was formed in the state. Kaur appealed to people to ensure that they came out of their homes on Sunday and cast their vote. “This is a golden opportunity that comes just once in five years so please don’t waste it,” she appealed to the voters. The former Union minister of state for external affairs said, it was certain that the Congress-led government was being formed at the Centre and Patiala will also contribute towards its formation. She said like during the previous 10 year UPA-I and UPA-II a number of Central-sponsored projects were brought to Patiala, the next five years will witness the repeat of that.
