Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has strongly condemned the sharing of a morphed image of his Cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu on various social media platforms.

Requesting everyone to refrain from sharing/forwarding the morphed image, the Chief Minister said such defamatory content should be verified. The Chief Minister’s reaction came after social media sites shared a photograph showing Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu wearing a green turban, printed with a star and a crescent – the Islamic symbols.

The image was shared by Pakistan Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee leader Gopal Singh Chawla on Facebook.

Chawla, a prominent pro-Khalistan separatist leader, was seen at the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor last year.

His inclusion in a Pakistani panel for the corridor had triggered an Indian boycott of official-level talks on the project.
