Mohali : Punjab government will extend full cooperation to Resident Welfare Associations in carrying out social service activities. This was announced by the Health and Family Welfare Minister , Balbir Singh Sidhu on Sunday. At a function held in Mohali, Balbir Singh Sidhu was welcomed as the chief guest in which he distributed cheques worth Rs 6.63 lakh among as many as 13 associations for their work in the field of social service. It included 12 RWAs of Sector 71 and one from Sector 77. During the programme, he appealed to the RWAs to plant maximum trees in their areas as the Punjab Government had also taken an initiative of planting 550 trees in every village on the eve of 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev. Divulging more details, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu said there would be no delay in providing health facilities in the district. “Special efforts are being made to provide health facilities, especially in the rural areas,” the minister added. He further emphasised that health and education were the two primary aims of the Captainled government.
