Ludhiana : Beneficiaries of the Atta-Dal scheme are allegedly receiving sub-standard wheat grain in Ludhiana district. People of Pakhowal block alleged that panchayats were distributing rotten food grain under this scheme. They said they had also not been receiving pulses (dals) from several months.

On the one side, Sikh activists are protesting against the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and killing of Sikh agitators since October12 and on the other side, the gherao call of eight farmers’ organisations may increase the worries of the Punjab government.
