CHANDIGARH: Nearly 35 kg of heroin, worth around Rs.175 crore in the international market, was seized Wednesday from a smuggler in Punjab's border Tarn Taran district, officials said.

Abohar : At least 11 students of a private school were killed and 25 others injured when a mini bus ferrying them collided head-on with a truck on the Kainchian-Goluwala road in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan today. The road links Goluwala with the Sriganganagar-Bikaner highway. While four victims belonged to a single family, the others were from the same village.

New delhi: Suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist Shahzad Ahmed, convicted in the 2008 Batla House encounter case, was on Tuesday sentenced to life imprisonment by a Delhi court, which said the case does not fall under the rarest of rare category warranting death penalty.
