Bus Accident- Sardar Nirmal Singh Kahlon - 12/03/2008

Sardar Nirmal Singh Kahlon
Speaker
Punjab Vidhan Sabha
Chandigarh

12 March 2008

Dear Sir,

I share your sentiments on this tragic accident. I join you in offering our deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and injured.

It is highly regrettable that you did not feel it appropriate to mark a minute's silence in memory.

No one would wish to give this tragic accident a political shade but it was deeply disrespectful to the deceased that the owner of the transport company, S. Jagdish Singh Sawhney MLA, chose to leave the house whilst discussion on this issue was still taking place and which carried on for half an hour after the said MLA had left in recognition of the gravity of the situation.

Rest assured that if a Congress MLA had been the owner he or she would have been immediately booked, detained, hounded and harassed.

You are humbly requested to hold a period of silence for the deceased immediately.

Regards,
Jassi Khangura
