Chandigarh : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader H S Phoolka to set the record straight and tell Punjabis why his party had supported the Congress’ Presidential candidate under his stewardship in Punjab even though he stepped down from the post of Leader of Opposition on the premise of fighting cases of Congress excesses committed in 1984 in Delhi.

In a first-of-its-kind move, Punjab local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu gave a public hearing to four superintendent engineers whom he had suspended last week. Sidhu had said the four engineers allotted Rs 500 cr of development work without any competition or negotiation to bring down the work cost during the previous SAD-BJP regime.
