Chandigarh: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said his government would go after the bigwigs in the drug trade, irrespective of their political affiliations, and not small users. “Children will not be picked up by the Special Task Force (STF).” He denied reports that he was posting officials in the STF headed by ADGP Harpreet Singh Sidhu.

House passes bill to appoint law officers

CHANDIGARH : The House on Wednesday passed a bill by voice vote to engage law officers in the office of the advocate general (AG) in a “transparent, fair and objective manner”. The Punjab Law Officers (Engagement) Bill, 2017, was moved by chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh in the House here.
