NRI professor launches new courses at Cambridge

Professor Raghavendra Rau, who is the Sir Evelyn de Rothschild Professor of Finance at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, is launching a new suite of programmes focussed on the world of Finance.

Delivered for the school's Executive Education division, the four new programmes will offer a comprehensive introduction to the major concepts of financial theory.

Professor Rau will host a webinar to discuss the programmes on November 21, a release from the Judge Business school said.

Prof Rau holds a PhD and an MSc from INSEAD, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a BSc from the University of Delhi.

Prof Rau said: "There is a difference between learning a topic and understanding it. At Cambridge Judge Business School, we focus on the second.

Institution specific details are less important than understanding why particular institutions use particular strategies".

The four new programmes look at the areas of Corporate Investment, Raising Capital, Portfolio Management and Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives.
