More Air India flights to Gulf countries soon

Frequent flyers from India might soon benefit from Air India's recent plans to increase the frequency of flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Saudi Arabia operating from the home country. As part of the summer schedule starting today, the number of flights run by Air India and Air India Express services would increase from the current number of 430 per week to 471 per week.

Two more flights will operate between New Delhi and Riyadh and two per week from Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode to Dammam, raising the total number of AI flights to Saudi Arabia from 42 to 48. The number of flights have been increased from 94 to 109 on Dubai routes, from 39 to 47 to Abu Dhabi, from 33 to 49 to Sharjah and from 12 to 21 to Doha.

There are also plans to further increase the number of flights to a total of 577 in the coming months. These plans include extending the Hyderabad- Dubai route to include Visakhapatnam, and operating four flights a week between Delhi and Sharjah via Amritsar and thrice a week via Lucknow. Besides, there are plans to introduce direct flights between Delhi and Bahrain and to increase the frequency of flights from Delhi.
