Patiala: In keeping with its endure of promoting Punjabi language theatre and social service, the National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) organised a socio-cultural programme at Padamshri Dr Khushdeva Singh Leprosy Patients Welfare Colony under the guidance of duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal. The thrust was to honour NRI Amarjit Baweja, from Canada, a noted Punjabi author and to raise funds for leprosy patients.

NTAS president GS Kakkar, Gurdwara Sri Manikaran Sahib Chief Administrator Shyam Lal Navyug and Ntasians welcomed the guests and presented NTAS award of honour, memento and gifts to the chief guest Amarjit Baweja, Kakkar dwelt upon Baweja’s literary works and his services towards society and Punjabi diaspora in Canada.

Chief Guest Baweja presented his latest published Punjabi Books entitled ‘Gustakhian’ and ‘Canada - Ik Trishna’ to Kakkar and other guests. He lauded NTAS relentless efforts towards the promotion of theatre and selfless service in India and abroad.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
