Police remained clueless even on the second day of the murder of a non-resident Indian ( NRI) woman in Bachittar Nagar.
Four unidentified men murdered 60-year- old Balwant Kaur, a native of Jassowal village, while she was on a visit to her daughter-in-law’s house.
Police commissioner of Ludhiana Ishwar Singh said the police was investigating the case taking in view all possible angles and was leaving no stone unturned to nab the culprits. Singh desisted from giving out any details of the developments in the case. “At this stage nothing can be said as it can affect the investigation,” said the commissioner.
The murderers had stabbed Kaur several times in the stomach, chest and the throat. Her daughter-in-law had locked herself, along with her two kids, in the washroom while Kaur got stabbed. Later she had raised an alarm.
The police commissioner had reached the spot, along with other FOUR UNIDENTIFIED MEN MURDERED BALWANT KAUR WHILE SHE WAS ON A VISIT TO DAUGHTER-IN-LAW’S HOUSE IN CITY officials, and had freed the woman and her children. Kaur was found lying in a puddle of blood.
The police suspect that the murder could be the handiwork of someone known to the family. The murderers had barged into the house on Tuesday evening. They had overpowered Kaur and stabbed her to death.
