JALANDHAR: North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) neither has any interest in the election of NRI Sabha nor supporting or opposing any candidate/candidates who are contesting election for any post of NRI Sabha.

This was announced here in a press release issued here today by its president Satnam Singh Chahal who was in the city since few days.

Chahal said although NRI Sabha is claiming that it is helping the overseas Punjabi community to solve their issues and concerns but the past record of this Sabha shows that there is no truth in this claim as the NRI Sabha totally failed to address the issues and concerns of the overseas Punjabi community.

Commenting on the past history of this Sabha  Chahal said that this organization and its office bearers are only enjoying themselves with the money of Parwasi Punjabi's.

He said that any organization which having no hold  or its agenda, for the welfare of its members always disregarded by its own members. Therefore overseas Punjabi community is not taking any interest in the forth coming election of NRI Sabha.

Chahal added that Sabha is a political platform for the political leaders therefore only political leaders are taking any interest in the election of the Sabha. These types of organizations are becoming the tools of the political leaders and is being run according to the interest of the political leaders.

Chahal cleared the air that NAPA is not supporting or opposing any candidate/candidates contesting for the office of NRI Sabha.

He urged the Said NRI Sabha to let the people know that how it was helpful to solve the issues and concerns of the overseas Punjabi community in the past when Several overseas Punjabi community members were running from pillar to post to get their issues addressed.

Chahal appealed to the overseas Punjabi community that if the said NRI Sabha solved any issue of any individuals or as a community then they should come forward to participate in the NRI Sabha election but if they understand that the Sabha totally failed to address the issues and concerns of the overseas Punjabi community then nobody should waste its energy and money by participating in the so called election of this Sabha.

Bahadur Singh President Sikh Temple of Salem in Origan State of United States said that if the overseas citizenship of India (OCI) card-holders are not ineligible to contest any elections or hold any constitutional post in the NRI Sabha then what is the fun of  organizing election of the NRI Sabha.

Sikh Leader of Texas State of United States Gurnam Singh Sandhar said that NRI Sabha totally failed to address the issues of overseas Punjabi Community so Punjabi community across the world is taking no interest in the forth coming election of NRI Sabha.

Rajveer Singh Dhillon and Gurinder Singh Randev both chairman and President of Sikh Temple in Colorado state said that overseas Punjabi community should not waste their time and energy by participating in the election process of NRI Sabha. Ajit Singh from Toronto said that the Punjab govt.does not have the staff & other provisions to open the fast track courts.

This is just an eye wash for the NRIs. CM in his own statement has pulled the feet back. Further, present Punjab govt is not going to get any material  benefit by giving justice to NRIs, rather they are benefited politically & materially by letting the the locals grab NRI assets & properties.
