JALANDHAR: Burglars struck at the house of an NRI at Gurdev Nagar colony late last night.
US-based NRI Rajesh Kumar told the police that he along with his family members had come to attend the marriage of his relative. After attending the marriage when he returned to his house, it found ransacked.
The burglars entered into the house by jumping over the gate of the house and broke open the doors of the house and looted gold jewelry weighing 16 tolas, a digital camera, one LCD and valuable house hold goods besides cash of Rs 4,000. He said the thieves had stolen the valuables worth more than Rs. 5 lakh.
Police of PS division no 1 had begun investigations in to the theft.
