JALANDHAR: Commissionerate police has booked Canada based NRI Sandip Singh for polygamy.

Vijay Kunwar SHO, Navi Baradari Police station said that the NRI had been booked on the complaint of his wife Kiran Bala, a resident of Guru Nanak Nagar, Bhogpuur under section 420, 465, 468, 471, 494 and 120-B of the IPC.

He said that Kiran Bala in her complaint alleged that she was married to Sandip Singh son of Ranbir Singh. He got married to another woman without divorcing her and was in the process to get his marriage with the second woman registered at the tehsil.

The SHO said that during investigations, the allegations leveled were come ture following which a case had been registered against the NRI. No arrest had been made as yet.
