Jalandhar : Showing concern for the welfare of non-resident Indians (NRIs) and their issues pertaining to the encroachment of properties in India, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) General Secretary and MP Narinder Kashyap had announced to set up an NRI wing, to address the issues of the NRIs.
“We have received scores of complaints from NRIs residing in various countries, who alleged encroachment on their properties including bungalow, agricultural land and commercial places,” added Kashyap. Taking a serious note of the issue, apart from setting up of the NRI wing, all pertinent issues of NRIs would also be raked up in the Parliament.
The party would not only set up a wing, but would also rake up all the important issues in the Parliament, and efforts would be made to take all the issues to a logical conclusion.
Putting more light on the issue, Kashyap stated that scores of NRIs have been running from pillar to post to vacate their properties from the hands of the land mafia, “Majority of the encroachments are being done on the behest of senior bureaucrats, politicians and other administrative officers,” alleged Kashyap.
When asked about the names of politicians or bureaucrats who are behind the land mafia, Kashyap refused divulge names, and said that such names would be made public soon. “I think NRI people are approaching the BSP after they were ditched by the ruling SAD-BJP and Congress as well,” he added.
Asked if party would also take a stand against NRIs who are fleeing abroad and leaving their wives in lurch in India after marriage, Kashyap was hastened to add that such issues would also be taken up if they come to their notice.
