LAHORE/CHANDIGARH: A Sikh man was murdered in Lahore by some persons over his decision to enter into marital alliance with the financée of a man who had been opposing the proposed marriage.
The deceased has been identified as one Amarjeet Singh, 28, who worked at his store at Shalimar Town in Lahore.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday when the man was attacked at his shop and kidnapped by some people. His body was later recovered some 40 km from Lahore, near Sheikhupura.
The police said the body of the deceased who worked as a ‘hakeem’ (a doctor of natural and traditional medicine) had injury marks. Police said they were suspecting Arjun, the girl’s fiancé, and the brothers of his wife.
The police have registered a case of murder against the accused persons incuding Arjun Singh and two others identified as Saroop Singh and Mastan Singh.
