VANCOUVER: June 23, 2013 marks twenty-eight years since Air India Flight 182 exploded over the Atlantic Ocean on its way from Montreal to Delhi via London. Over 300 people were killed, including 24 Indians and 280 Canadians.
Jasbir Sandhu, MP of Surrey North, Canada stated, "My New Democratic colleagues and I extend our sympathy and compassion to the families and loved ones of the victims, those who are still to this day feeling the impact of the worst act of terrorism in Canada’s history."
He added, "Please join me in reflecting on this tragedy, and by lending your support to those who are still mourning their loved ones thirty years on. May a tragedy such as this never again be repeated."
