Chandigarh : Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday offered all support and cooperation to the Indian-origin US cancer experts Dr Inderbir Gill and Dr Parkash Gill for setting up a research centre for ‘New Cancer Drug Development and Manufacture’ facility in the state.

An assurance to this effect was given by Badal to the visiting doctors, accompanied by the Cabinet Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, who called on him here, this morning.

Taking part in the deliberations, the doctors assured the Chief Minister that they were committed to establish world’s best ‘Cancer Drug Development and Genetic Testing’ facility in Punjab as they had a long experience in this field. Vadra land deals: Badal seeks probe by Supreme Court judge

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday sought an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court Judge into Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s controversial land deals in Haryana.

Badal said though he was not aware of the facts of the case, the government should order an independent probe if senior Haryana IAS officer Ashok Khemka had raised serious irregularities in Vadra-DLF land deals.

“There is no harm in conducting an enquiry whenever there is any dispute,” expressed Badal, while stating that he and his family members had also faced several enquiries to come clean on all the allegations levelled against them.
