2 NRI moneylenders shot dead in Manila

Raikot : A pal of gloom descended on a family of Bhaini Baringa village last night following the alleged murder of their two close relatives in Manila. The deceased, settled in Tagma city in Philippines, were allegedly shot dead by assailants on Saturday. They were in the money lending business.

The victims have been identified as Bhinder Singh (55) and Angrej Singh Billu.

Villagers have urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and state Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to impress upon the Indian High Commissioner in the Philippines to expedite the process of sending the bodies to India.

Bhinder is survived by his wife Manjit Kaur, three daughters and mother Surjit Kaur.

His brother Hakam Singh and sister Rajbir Kaur will leave for Manila for seeking a fair probe into the murder.
