Jalandhar : The alleged killing of a newly-wed Punjabi couple in California has left their relatives at Pholariwal village near here in a state of shock.
Harmandeep Singh (32) of Pholariwal village and his wife Kirandeep from Batala had got married on September 12. Both were allegedly shot dead at their house in California on November 16.
Harmandeep's cousin Rajinder Singh said: "The police are suspecting it a case of suicide. There is no reason for them to commit suicide. Harmandeep was earning well from his job there." He said: "I have not been able to talk to my aunt since the incident. She is in a state of shock. I have learnt that the police will hand over the bodies to the family tomorrow. Their last rites will be held in California".
