New York: A Chicago-based group, which works to promote the interests of the Indian community, will organise a dinner to raise funds for the poor in Lombard, a village in Illinois, on November 13. The Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) in Chicago will host a dinner at Viceroy of India Banquet Hall in Lombard to raise funds for group’s 2016 charitable outreach programmes, the Chicago Tribune reported on Wednesday.

London : Twenty protesters have been arrested by the British police after a Sikh demonstration outside the Indian High Commission here against alleged police brutality in Punjab turned violent, leaving one policeman injured.
