Toronto: A Punjab-origin man was sentenced to life in prison for killing three people in separate attacks in 2013, a media report said. The British Columbia Supreme Court in New Westminster on Wednesday handed out the sentence to Sarbjit Bains after he pleaded guilty in April this year to killing Amritpal Saran, Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors, surreyleader.com reported on Thursday. Justice Miriam Maisonville set Bains’ parole eligibility term at 18 years, which means he will not be allowed to apply for release before 2033.
