Bihar Flood Relief - 03/10/2008

MLA Jassi Khangura will be flagging off much needed relief supplies to Bihar from Majestic Park Plaza. Jassi Khangura says “despite the flood receding the state still faces immense problems. We are sending a truckload full of blankets, lunghis, children’s sweaters and children’s clothes to try and assist some of the most needy people”. Jassi Khangura added “the scale of any disaster often only emerges a few weeks after the event. The Bihar floods are no different. Devastation is on a massive scale. The requisite response is required from the governments and the voluntary sector. We hope our contribution goes some way to alleviating the grief and agony suffered by many.” Mr Khangura was inspired to assist after talking with Mrs Ranjeet Ranjan MP recently and getting a deeper understanding of the problems faced in the area.
