Justice For NRIs: The Real NRI Conference

Can one really expect a government sponsored or associated NRI samellan to be representative?

Why is it that previous NRI conferences have been sweet talking shops and colorful photo opportunities?

Have you ever heard words critical of government action or the gut – wrenching pleas of an aggrieved NRI?

The reality is that the January 2008 samellan held in Jalandhar and Chandigarh was nothing more than a gloss over. That is why this conference is being held on 26 December 2008 at Chandigarh to allow visiting Legislators and NRIs the freedom and opportunity to express their views.

With more than 30 Lakh Punjabi’s living outside India we cannot simply ignore their views.

Ministers need to understand that NRIs do not just make great hosts overseas, they can also a play substantial role in the development of Punjab.

This conference will highlight the issues that need to be addressed to make Punjab a more welcome destination for Punjabi NRIs.

Speeches will include:

Mr. Sukh Dhaliwal MP, Newton North Delta, B.C Canada.
Dr. Kuldip S. Kular MPP, Bramalea Gore Malton, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Vic Dhillon MPP, Brampton West, Ontario, Canada.

Jassi Khangura MLA
