Woman crushed by bus, labour organisation stages protest

Muktsar : Traffic was blocked by Labour Organisations on main road near killianwali Police station near Lambi when a 35-year-old lady of village Fatuhiwala has been crushed to death by bus bearing number PB 30 f 7278.

The Bus belonged to New deep company owned by Hardeep singh Dhillon who was a SAD candidate from Giderbaha constituency in recent assembly elections.

The incident occurred at 2.15 pm when Amandeep Kaur, wife of Korjeet Singh was coming to her village Fatuhiwala by bus which she boarded from Lambi. She was run over by the back wheels of bus. Lambi police officials reached the site and tried to make compromise between both parties but failed as family members and labour organisation demanded Rs 10 lakh as compensation on the spot. Owner of bus asked for three month time period for the arranging the compensation amount. In aggression to this, labour organisation halted traffic on main road that lead to Jam. Organisation leader Sukha Singh said, unless compensation will not be given to family and police registers the case against driver and conductor who escaped after incident, they will not end their protest.
