SAD woman sarpanch booked in graft case

TARN TARAN : The police on Tuesday booked a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) woman sarpanch, Salwinder Kaur, of Valtoha village, on the charges of embezzling development and pension grants to the tune of ₹1.62 crore.
A villager, Balwinder Singh, had complained to chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Khemkaran MLA Sukhpal Singh Bhullar and Tarn Taran deputy commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal against the sarpanch for bungling the village’s development and pension funds. A case under Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 420 (cheating ) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the sarpanch has been registered. She is yet to be arrested.
