AMRITSAR: In yet another high-handedness by the leaders belonging to ruling party, Vikas Kumar, close relative of Akali leader Rajinder Kumar alias Pappu today brought guns including 315 bore gun and a revolver to the examination hall at village Bhangali in Majitha constituency to help his sister Sofia in copying.

According to the officials of the Education Department, the examination centre Bhangali reported the matter to the police and higher authorities but the case is yet to be registered even though the matter is in the notice of Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka.

Meanwhile Punjab's Director General of School Education KS Pannu issued a statement that he has spoken to the police authorities to register the case and the same would be done in the short time.

He said that it was highly serious issue as when the examination authorities asked him that the copying was not allowed in the examination of 10+2, Akali leader's kin insisted for the same and when asked to leave the complex he brandished the guns to help her sister.

"We have decided to expel the student from the school as well as Vikasr. The culprits are reported to have been arrested also. The extra staff has been deployed at the centre. I am regularly in touch with police. Education Minister has directed DIG to take strict action against the culprits. I stand by the teachers concerned. This action by unscrupulous elements is highly condemnable and seems an act of frustration against strict anti copying measures adopted by the department. We resolve to further intensify our efforts to curb the menace of copying in future”.

Pappu is Chairman of Zila Parishad and is Akali leader from Kathunangal int he Majitha constituency.
