Akali sarpanch booked for breach of trust

BATHINDA: The police have booked the Akali sarpanch of Dan Singh Wala village for alleged criminal breach of trust as he did not pay back the money kept as surety with him for the settlement of a dispute between two parties.
On a complaint by Balkar Singh of the same village, the police have booked sarpanch Tirath Singh under Section 406 of the IPC.
SHO of Nehianwala police station Sandeep Singh Bhatti, said
6 lakh were deposited with the sarpanch by the complainant to settle a dispute with another resident and after, settlement of the issue, ` 1.30 lakh were left with the sarpanch, which he was supposed to pay him back, but he has failed to do so for the past over one year. “A case has been registered after an inquiry and the police were conducting raids to nab him,” said Bhatti.
