Bus of Sukhbir’s firm challaned in Mohali

SAS NAGAR: A luxury bus belonging to Dabwali Transport Company, of which Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal is a shareholder, was challaned for illegal parking on Thursday on the instructions of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) here. The bus was parked near the Phase 2 lightpoint.

The CJM, SAS Nagar, himself had taken note of the illegally-parked buses at the said location and asked the traffic in-charge concerned to challan the buses. Acting promptly, the traffic police challaned a Mercedes Benz bus (PB-03-AC-5200) of Dabwali Transport Company.

On Thursday Morning, traffic police inspector Gurdeep Singh, under whose jurisdiction Phase 2 area falls, was summoned by the staff of CJM court.

When the cop reached the court and was called inside by the CJM and asked why no action was being taken against illegally parked buses on the roadside near Phase 2 lightpoint.

Bus driver Karandeep Singh received the challan. Sources in the police said the bus was being parked at the said place for long during the day time.

Inspector Gurdeep Singh was unavailable for comments. DSP (traffic) Ram Chander said, “We got information and promptly challaned the bus.”
