Chandigarh : Chairman of the Gau Sewa Commission, Punjab, Keemti Bhagat said here today that he would protest against the Parkash Singh Badal government if the promise of free electricity for gaushalas was not fulfilled.
Keemti Bhagat, son of senior BJP leader Chuni Lal Bhagat, was appointed chairman of the commission by the Badal himself. Keemti said the government should fulfil its promise in a month or he, along with other gau sewaks, would hold a protest in front of PSPCL Chief Managing Director KD Chaudhary’s office. If that did not help, they would protest against the state government as well, he said.
He said the state Cabinet had decided to give free electricity and water to 472 private gaushalas being run by various NGOs, but the decision had not been implemented so far. He said he had held at least five meetings on the issue with the Chief Minister, but to no avail.
