Woman Akali leader slaps driver in Kotkapura, booked

FARIDKOT: A senior Akali leader from here Amarjit Kaur, who is also a Zila Parishad member from Rori Kapura in the district, allegedly dragged a tractor driver from his seat and repeatedly slapped him in full public view accusing him of hitting her vehicle (Toyota Innova) from behind. However, she failed to show any damage to her vehicle when the people, who gathered there, asked her about the damage to the vehicle.

Tarn Taran : A 60-year-old person who was allegedly beaten up by an Akali councillor succumbed to injuries on Friday. The deceased’s family members staged a protest Dharna at Bohri chowk in protest against inaction of police and attempted to commit suicide by pouring kerosene oil in the presence of police.

MOGA: Members of the Punjab Students Union (PSU) blocked the entry of the Parkash Singh Badal family-owned buses to the city on Wednesday during a protest called by the union against the molestation and death of a 13-year-old girl after she, along with her mother, was pushed out of a moving bus in Moga on April 29.

Amritsar: National Commission of Schedule Castes has directed Moga Deputy Commissioner and police administration to get the accused identified by victim’s family and submit a report to commission within three days. A 13-year-old girl and her mother was thrown out from a private bus after being molested by the conductor and the helper of the bus, and the minor girl succumbed to her injuries and her critically injured mother was fighting for her life in government hospital.
