Patiala : Punjab Mandi Board Chairman and Senior Leader of ruling Congress Party, Lal Singh on Tuesday fired a direct salvo against the previous SAD-BJP government.

Singh said that due to wrong policies pursued by Parkash Singh Badal led government this board has become financially sick and it will take time to come out of financial quagmire.

Senior Congress leader and former Union External Affairs Minister Preneet Kaur met farmers and commission agents to address their issues and demands.

Lal Singh presented data and said that SAD-BJP government brought the board in red by taking an advance loan of Rs 550 crore from it and used it somewhere else. He alleged that due to this wrong decision richest board of the state is now facing a financial crunch.

Singh assured the farmers as well as the traders that the state government is committed to work for their welfare but it needs time to fulfill the poll promises.
