PATIALA : Former Union minister Preneet Kaur exhorted Union minister of external affairs Sushma Swaraj to provide immediate help to Punjabis stuck in Arabian countries.

Speaking on the sidelines of her visit at grain market in Sanaur, Preneet said the Union government must take up the issue with their counterparts in Arabian countries on priority.

“Punjabis are being exploited by travel agents and private companies, who have confiscated their passports. Their families in Punjab are left in lurch, praying for safety of their wards,” said Preneet, who was accompanied by senior congress leader Lal Singh, who is also the chairman of Punjab Mandi Board. “The Union ministry should hold special relief camps and extend all possible help to Punjabi youth, who went to these countries for greener pastures,” she said.
