Affiliation of institutes not fulfilling set standards to be cancelled: Channi

Chandigarh : Punjab government will not tolerate any laxity in providing quality technical education by the private technical educational institutes and no compromise or relaxation would be granted to any private technical educational institute in providing technical education. Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi gave this clear cut signal during a meeting with the representatives of unaided technical education institutes.

The Minister said that no private technical education institute would be allowed to play with the future of students and the institutes have to meet all the standards set by the AICTE and Punjab government otherwise they will have to face action. He further said that the senior government officials would regularly check the private technical educational institutes and if irregularities found the affiliation of such institutes would be cancelled with immediate effect. “If checking officials fails to perform their duty honestly and up to mark strict action would be taken against them,” he added.

Channi also directed to install bio-metric attendance system to stop fake admissions in the private technical educational institutes and these would be further linked with the technical education department online.

The Minister made clear that all admissions in technical education institutes would be online and no late admissions would be allowed.
