Patiala : State Health and Medical Education Minister Brahm Mohindra launched a scathing attack against the previous SAD-BJP government alleging that the previous regime preferred to set up big private hospitals in the state keeping in view the interests of rich people and totally ignored basic medical facilities for the poor people.

He was speaking at a function organised by his supporters on the Patiala-Bhadson road in his assembly segment area’s ward Number 3 on Sunday.

The Minister, continuing with his tirade against the previous government, further said that due to the pro-rich policies being followed by the SAD-BJP, the medical facilites had gone out of the reach of the poor people and the erstwhile government failed to do anything for the poor people.

Mohindra said that it seemed that in the last two years of it’s term, the previous government had preferred to collect heavy commissions as it went out of the way to purchase costly machinery and equipment for the state hospitals and medical colleges. To prove his point, he stated that a large number of such machinery and equipment are still lying in fully packed conditions and were not being utilised.
