Jalandhar : The Punjab Congress on Monday took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader of opposition H S Phoolka, who announced to conduct Punjab Yatra to know the issues of the state.
In a press release, Punjab Congress spokesperson Himanshu Pathak said that though AAP has been claiming itself to be the ‘guardian’ of the state but it was still not aware of its issues and the solutions.
Pathak said that Phoolka has no moral right to remain the leader of opposition, if he is unaware of state issues. “How did Phoolka and his party flight the Punjab assembly elections, when they were unaware of state’s issues,” he questioned.
He said that by issuing such a statement, Phoolka has confirmed that AAP’s manifesto was bought from Delhi, hence the lack of knowledge about Punjab issues. This is another tactic of AAP and it’s leaders to misguide the people of Punjab, Pathak said.
Further, Pathak said that just before the assembly election results on February 27, AAP leaders including Phoolka, Sanjay Singh, Durgesh Pathak and Bhagwant Mann and others had announced to start a campaign against drugs.
“The AAP leaders had even announced to collect data related to drugs in Punjab where they promised to bring it before the government, so as to curb the issue,” he added.
Pathak said that if they were serious about the issue, they would have proved their stand. “AAP leaders just used the opportunity to take political mileage. Even now, they were trying to find new issues to remain politically viable,” he said.
