Transport policy will set things right: CM

CHANDIGARH: CM Capt Amarinder Singh said in the assembly on Friday the transport department and vigilance officials had conducted checking over the past two weeks and found 401 buses defaulting. As transport minister, he was responding to a call-attention motion by the Congress MLA from Fatehgarh Sahib, Kuljit Singh Nagra, who asked about buses being plied without permits and registration certificates. The CM also said the government is making a policy after which “everyone has to fall in line”.

On another motion on the poor results of Class 10 and 12, education minister Aruna Chaudhary said, “Punjab School Education Board, for the past many years, followed the policy of awarding 1% grace marks. In April, the Union ministry of human resource development ordered to discontinue the policy.”

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
